Faith has hope for hops

Faith collected hops from Crown Quay today, from a stray plant twined around the dead blackened branches of a fallen tree. She is supervising its distillation. I have never heard of essential oil from hops before, though it has long given beer its bitter flavour. Before it appeared in England, burdock and horehound were used for this purpose and these are also growing plentifully nearby.
