The Joy of Research

The joy of research was evident yesterday whilst browsing around one of my favourite bookshops, Blackwells in Oxford. In the Introduction to the 2010 Edition of Richard Mabey’s ‘The Unoffical Countryside’, Iain Sinclair says: “How did I miss, first time around, a book that linked, at a single stroke, burgeoning bureaucracy and the threatened pastoral of whatever lay beyond the city’s horizon?” And how did I miss it?
This along with ” Weeds The Story of Outlaw Plants” are absolutely spot on for my work at present.
